  • 2009 Fall Garage Sale: Camera Accessories

Thanks to nagging muscle pains and the holiday, I missed the last two Fridays, but let’s try to make up for that. To compliment the camcorders that are for sale, how about a few accessories to go along with them?

(Don’t forget you can go to http://travistubbs.net/tag/2009fallgaragesale to see other items that are still available.)

Product: Audio-Technica TwinMic Multi-Purpose VHF Wireless Microphone System
Asking Price: $80.00 each (or best offer)
The reason I like the camcorder mentioned in a previous post is the external microphone jack. That’s where the Audio-Technica TwinMic Multi-Purpose VHF Wireless Microphone System came into play. This set included a miniature lavalier condenser microphone, a handheld microphone, a transmitter, and a receiver. The receiver includes a earphone jack so that you can listen to the audio that is coming from the microphone. I didn’t get much use out of these microphones. The couple of times I did use they, they worked great. Both the receiver and transmitter work off a single 9V battery, so I would definitely pick up a couple of those. If they make rechargeable 9V batteries, maybe get those instead. Like most everything else, I have two (2) of these sets available. You can find more details about this microphone set at Audio-Technica’s web site.
Oh… speaking of those batteries, …
How about throwing in some batteries for free? You can either choose between the not-opened Energizer 4-pack or the opened-but-only-one-was-used Rayovac. Your call!

    Original Purchase Price/Date (First Set): $100.95 / 2008 Apr 12
    Original Purchase Price/Date (Second Set): $127.23 / 2008 Aug 26
Product: Azden CAM-3 3-Channel Mic Mixer
Asking Price: $30.00 (or best offer)
As long as you got microphones, how about a way to mix them on the go? That’s what the Azden CAM-3 3-Channel Mic Mixer can do! Since some people can be a little loud (like me) or a little quiet, you need a way to be able to adjust their audio to the proper levels. The CAM-3, as the title implies, can mix up to three different channels of audio. Since this is a mixer intended for those on the go, it does not require any batteries. It also has a clip on the side. One thing I need to make very clear is that the audio inputs and output work a little weird. The audio output is in stereo. Input Channel 1 will record audio on the Right Channel of the Stereo output. Input Channel 2 will output audio on the Left Channel of the Stereo Output. Input Channel 3 will record audio in Stereo (Left and Right Channel) and will output as Stereo. This device is meant monaural sound but can work with stereo as well. Just remember the information stated. I only have one of these available. Head over to Azden’s web site for more information.
    Original Purchase Price/Date: $45.99 / 2008 Aug 26

    Product: Smith-Victor DP10 Diffusion Screen
Asking Price: $10.00 (or best offer)
Finally, we have the Smith-Victor DP10 Diffusion Screen. In all honesty, I can’t tell you what the point of it is exactly. It was recommended by the folks at Wolf Camera, so I took their advice and picked one up. Here’s what I can tell you from the label on it:
    • Provides Soft Light From Any Reflector Light
    • Instant Clip-On Mounting
    • For 10-inch Reflectors
And that’s it. Not really much to work on, really. Hopefully you can find a little more than that over at Smith-Victor’s web site.

Original Purchase Price/Date: $??.?? / ?? (Purchased in person, can’t find records of purchase)
