Had a dream last night I wanted to share but it’s a bit long to fit within 140 characters. So, I figured I’d dust off the ol’ blog here and make use of it.
It started off simple enough. Doing my usual routine of sitting at the computer and working on who knows what. I was emailing back and forth with an acquaintance up north with some kind of technical issue (which was the last email I noticed before passing out). Eventually, I got tired of doing that and just told him I’d be up there in a bit to help out.
“In a bit?” How the hell do you get from Houston to Canada “in a bit”?
That’s easy. Cut away! That’s right. My dream used a damn television style cut away to travel. Even my dream didn’t want to deal with the hassles of air travel. (My fear of traveling in a tin can in the air probably played a part in that as well.) Sadly, I don’t think my dream used any cheesy 80’s style cut away sound effect.
Needless to say, actually being there did help speed along whatever the hell it was I was helping with. Some other things were happening as well, but I don’t remember anything. Pretty sure it was all just filler. I do remember dogs licking my feet, which is odd because I know they have cats.
It was getting late (it was dark outside) and I figured I had already overstayed my welcome. I went ahead and called up my friend Jackie who just happens to live a couple towns over to see if I could crash at her place. The acquaintance and his wife were actually kind of disappointed I wouldn’t be staying for dinner. (Did I mention I have no idea what they look like? I don’t remember how my dream interpreted this…) I explained that I didn’t want to intrude any further by staying the night there and that I already knew Jackie’s family would probably be okay with it. Of course, why I didn’t just cut away home is beyond me.
And that’s the last thing I remember. Huh… I could have sworn this dream was a little more wackier than that. But now that I have typed it out, it’s pretty boring. … … … I miss Tim Hortons coffee. So yeah. That was that.
Oh right. That reminds me. I guess I better reply to that message that started all of this instead of spending 15 minutes writing up this post.
