  • Quick Takes on the first episode of Game of Thrones

I wasn’t one of the cool kids and haven’t been watching Game of Thrones. Lack of access to HBO would be one reason but the main reason is I’m not big into fantasy.  But since a friend told me some things about a future episode (not too spoilery) and HBO now has opened their service to select devices with their HBO Now service, I figured I’d finally sit down and watch the series.

I have a habit of forgetting things, so I’m going to try taking vague notes during each episode (which I’ll try to watch one a day) to help me remember things and just to see how silly my vague notes will sound.

So here are my quick (vague) takes on the first episode of Game of Thrones.

    • Great scenery.
    • What the hell was that thing in the woods!?
    • Winter is coming.
    • Everyone loves puppies. (Or tiny wolves. Whatever.)
    • Smaller guy likes his ladies.
    • Bro totally seeing too much of his sis.
    • Winter is coming.
    • Fat jokes.
    • Bro TOTALLY shouldn’t be doing that to his sis.
    • Boobs.
    • Guts.
    • Winter is coming.
    • That’s why you were told to stop climbing! (Also, wolf pup isn’t going to soften your landing.)

Essentially, just building the characters so far, which is expected. It’s going to take me a bit to get use to who and who and what their motives are and whatnot.

I’m not too big of fan of gore so I’ll admit I did turn my head away a bit. And even though I’m an adult, I feel weird when there are boobies on the screen. No, not that kid of weird. I mean like I totally know it’s okay to look but feel like I shouldn’t? I really don’t understand my brain.

I wouldn’t mind hopping into the next episode already but I have some other things to get done. Interested to see what’s next.
